Ok Here goes...
I have a good working Ender 5 and can pretty well print anything to high quality with PLA/PETG having figured the Adhesion and Stringing issues.
I got a new all metal hotend (for the high temp range required) and the filament is extruding very well and sticks to the textured glass Creality bed for about 2mm of height (approx. 10 layers at .02) then it lifts off..
This will hopefully be a running update as my next route is a Mirrored Glass plate and hairspray.. Might start tomorrow If I get the glass cut while I wait. I'n anticipating a need to put some enclosure of the top to keep the heat in. If anyone has tips.. feel free to jump in.

Hi Xayoz.
Thank for that.. I usually preheat the bed.. Tried 100c..
I'm getting two pieces of 235x235x4mm mirror cut tomorrow and going to try hairspray.
It's job in progress currently.. If I can get it to stick then I'll consider an enclosure. If it doesn't stick I'll try phenolic board next..
It'd be fun to try it at least.. LOL

Best of luck, please let us know how it goes.
The enclose is for the fumes from the ABS as that is a health hazard. You won't need one for most other filaments unless you are trying to overcome a draft.

Well...
Not getting on with the all metal hot end.. It doesn't feed well with new filament unlike the stock one did.. You have to dismantle the bowden tube a NHS d feed manually..
I tried three different hair sprays.. Recommended.. Not sticking well at all...
In the end I put the stock hotend on and tried a few other filaments.. PLA PETG.. All stock we until cool.. I like the hairspray for that.
Think we may have to go with Abs type resin...

That's unfortunate. I know I've seen some stories from people who have had to raise the hotend temp 5-10 because of all metal, although mine is fine at normal temps. Maybe some kind of defect if it's not feeding...have you contacted the hotend manufacturer?

not yet.. too much going on to mess with..
Tried a model yesterday.. 22hrs... it came out really well with PLA and tolerances good. Added to the waal thinkness and a 20@% fill.. feels like a brick from strength and rigidity which we need.
It may suffice for what he needs it for.

I haven't tried ABS, PETG gives me all the strength I need. Just tried TPE, which was interesting. Back to doing some PETG parts now, then I'll tru TPU.

I have found PETG settings to be similar to PLA apart from temperatures..
Are you making parts too?

I'm planning to buy my wife a Prusa MK3S in the next few months, so I printed the "orange parts" in pink PETG, so she can have a pink printer when I order and assemble. Also printed a buffer tower for my Prusa MK3S and MMU2S that's in transit. Other than that, mostly toys and junk because it's fun. I did fairly recently print holder stands for my Doctor Who sonic screwdriver collection...lol.

Good for you.
I know hobbyists in many areas. Photography RC aircraft etc etc and they chase the pinnacle all the time but never actually enjoy the hobby
Others, working on a shoestring are blissfully happy in it.
Takes all sorts I suppose
